Sunday, Sunday, Someday

I’ve stopped posting Sunady classics, as you may have noticed by now. Truth be told, I ran out of truly classic classics. Checking the archive, I see that I’ve posted a mere 14 “classics” out of a total of—(hold on a minute, gotta pull up the archived old site on my hard drive. Let’s see here…)—14 out of 124. Wow. I didn’t realize…

That’s a horrible ratio.

Suffice it to say that I’ve covered most of the classics that I think are actually worth reading. I might throw one in occassionally on Sundays, but otherwise, that’s it for now. This means I need to figure out something new to post on Sundays. There are a number of ideas that I’ve contemplated, but I rejected them all for one reason or another.

I might do “Song Sunday” eventually—if I ever start writing music again. I could do “Prose Sunday”—but that means I’d have to post stories on Sunday rather than whenever, and it means I’d have to go out of my way to write the stories in the first place. I could do “Serial Sunday” which is slightly less demanding than the prose version, since I could post non-complete versions of stories. I could do “Poetry Sunday”, although that would first necessitate me writing poetry. I’ve also considered “Podcast Sunday” where I post a file of me talking. However, judging by my real-life interactions of people, I should be doing less talking, not more. There’s “Quote Sunday” which is where I take particularly funny or strange quotes people have said to me during the week. The problem with that is it means I have to keep track of the good ones—and sometimes there aren’t good ones—and, of course, I’ll inevitably end up making fun of someone with whom I interact, making for some awkward moments if they ever read this. Finally, I’ve thought about “Art Sunday”, which is like “Song Sunday” but with visual art. Again, this would necessitate me actually creating art—something which I haven’t done with any regularity since college. It’s possible—but does anyone care about my art? Honestly? No.

Lot’s of ideas, no good ones. For the time being, this is updated Monday, Wednesday, Friday and sometimes Sunday. I knew this day would come, though I didn’t expect it 1) so soon and 2) before I came up with a replacement idea. So it goes.
