These are really a lot of fun. I would do more, but they take so long to write and perform that just thinking about it makes me lose motivation. Also, they’re better with at least one other person. My excuse this time around is that I bought an awesome condenser mic during Guitar Center’s Labor Day sale (An Audio Technica AT3035) and I had to find some excuse—any excuse—to use it.

I love the mic. It’s really fantastic. Less fantastic is the room I record in, with its completely bare walls and loud computer. I thought about hanging up some blankets to take care of the reverb, but I’m really lazy, so I just recorded the thing in the room as is. It’s not terrible, but you’ll have to deal with a little echoey-ness. I’m also still getting the hang of effectively miking myself with a condenser and recording at the proper levels. I’m afraid my engineering isn’t up to the quality the mic demands. Oh well. I had fun, anyway.
