It’s Nanowrimo Without the NoWri

Well, it seems to be about that time again. The last time I missed a day without realizing it, I decided that the best course of action was for me to take a week off. I recently missed another day again—two fridays ago—and I almost missed today, also. Nothing is more insufferable than a blogger blogging about not blogging, so I won’t belabor the bush too much. I’ve been busy with personal things outside of the Not A Blog™, and although it has moved up in priority, it still gets missed, sometimes, as I work on other things. In particular, I’ve been working on a lot more music lately (it’s not all getting posted), and as much fun as that is, I can’t do it with the frequency with which I can crap out blog entries, so it doesn’t carry the week. But also, the entries themselves are getting thin, so I need some time to decompress.
One exciting thing I will mention: I got my furniture today. The same furniture I wrote about buying a few months ago. It’s fantastic stuff, exactly what I wanted. However, having it means I sit around on it, reading sometimes, thinking others—but not writing. Then there’s the whole “shopping for accessories” bit which is fun enough, but annoying when the store has every possible color of throw pillow except the one you came in to get.
The point: I’m taking next week off to recharge. I knew it was coming again, so I take the vacation without apology. Stranger will update this weekend, so you can look for that, but no posts next week. It could be worse, though. I was thinking about taking the entire rest of the month off with the intention of collecting the best of 2007 into a book, but let’s face facts: that’s a huge project, and I’m extremely lazy. (It’s one of those projects that I would like to have done, but not one I want to work on.) Heck, it could be even worse than that. I could be doing Nano.
See you on the 19th.
